Account Executive – Central Europe

The ideal Account Executive candidate is highly motivated, energetic, and takes an innovative approach to problem-solving.

The Account Executive, Central Europe will develop and foster relationships with key decision-makers in genomics, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical companies. This role uses complementary development pipelines to secure business opportunities for the company in the assigned geographical location.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing industry activity and developing annual business plans for specific market segments and assigned accounts
  • Participating with management in the development and implementation of the sales plan which will include forecasting territory sales and activity objectives
  • Planning and implementing monthly objectives of the sales action plan, including budgeting of time and resources and communicating with staff as appropriate to achieve sales action goals and objectives as appropriate
  • Developing account strategies for all appropriate clients
  • Anticipating and identifying client challenges, real and perceived, and partnering with the appropriate operations team leader to provide solutions in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records within the database, for accounts (active and targeted) within the assigned geographic territory; this includes items such as account profiles, individual contact details, opportunities and communications
  • Maintaining a current and professional level of knowledge in Oncology, Genomics, Genetics and Data Management information to serve as a basis for providing “value added” expanded Company services to all appropriate clients
  • Participating in weekly updates to management and the Business Development team of new activities in the assigned territory, with urgent and important issues being shared with management as they arise
  • Actively participating at professional meetings and conventions as appropriate
  • Travel may be required (up to 40%)


  • BA/BS degree in a science-related field or equivalent related education and experience, plus moderate experience in Oncology, Genomics research and in business development
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in Genomics, Pharmaceuticals, CRO, Biotechnology, or SAS Sales
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail
  • Strong communications skills
  • Superior, outgoing, relationship-builder personality
  • Strong executive presence with a polished and professional image
  • Someone comfortable in a highly collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Excellent time management skills and highly results-oriented
  • Enthusiastic self-directed worker capable of working independently and in small teams
  • Ability to impress customers and develop trusted relationships with prospects, customers, team members, management, and industry influencers

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Life Sciences preferred
