Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative manages the customer sales process for sequencing and platform sales opportunities in the US.

By providing custom cohorts of deeply phenotyped and genoytyped patients, as well as the GORdb platform and analysis suite and cutting-edge AI, we enable our clients to accelerate their drug discovery and development programs. As a Solution Executive – Population Genomics you will leverage your trusted relationships with senior biopharmaceutical R&D executives to drive the identification, scoping and negotiation of large strategic cohort deals. The successful candidate will demonstrate eminence in the field of genomics / precision medicine and actively contribute to WuXi NextCODE’s growth trajectory.

As a key member of the commercial sales team the Inside Sales Representative manages the customer sales process for sequencing and platform sales opportunities in the US. Responsibilities include generating qualified sales leads, guiding customers to products that best meet their needs, coordinating with internal team to address customer questions, generating individualized quotes and last but not least, closing deals. Working closely with Marketing, Field Application Scientists (FAS), Account Executives and Product Management, this role will help drive new customer growth and provide a career launch pad.

Essential Functions

  • Works with Marketing and Account Execs to develop and execute on new customer acquisition strategies to meet revenue goals
  • Manages the customer sales process for sequencing and platform via phone and e-mail
  • Maintains lead, opportunity, and customer information in the CRM database, providing frequent status updates
  • Engages with client and coordinates with FAS or product management to further qualifying in-bound leads and address customer questions or concerns
  • Works collaboratively with the wider sales team including Account Execs, FAS team, Product Management and Project Management
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with clients and purchasing contacts
  • Tracks and reports on all activities and value created to management
  • Provides relevant data for Ad-Hoc reporting
  • Applies continuous improvement methodologies to improve lead generation activities

Required Education and Experience

  • B. S. in life science, chemistry or business
  • Proven successful sales experience with a technical product line
  • NGS Sales experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulate them well to others
  • Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, confident balancing multiple projects and prioritizing appropriately
  • Outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and SalesForce CRM required
