Product Manager – Research Data Solutions

Develop the vision for a product and build actionable strategic plans and detailed roadmaps for development, delivery and continuous improvement of the product.

The Product Manager will set and drive the vision for our portfolio of research data solution products and service offerings with a focus on platforms for pharma discovery. As the Product Manager you must develop a comprehensive understanding of the product´s technology, develop deep insights into the market for the product, be the voice of the user, design the product to maximise business value, be responsible for energising the company to support the product vision and build and execute against actionable plans to realise that vision. The Product Manager owns the success of the product.

Specific responsibilities are broken into two parts and include

  • Develop the vision for a product and build actionable strategic plans and detailed roadmaps for development, delivery and continuous improvement of the product. Inspire all other stakeholders in the company to support and drive towards the product vision.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement strategic action plans and detailed roadmaps and work closely with project managers to set goals and timelines, assign actions, track budgets and undertake project planning.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to analyze the market for potential products and provide ongoing market monitoring including competitor landscape, market dynamics and customer segments.
  • Collaborate with product experience and other customer-facing teams to develop and maintain a deep understanding of the user experience and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with finance and other business teams to understand pricing, regulatory and other considerations that may constrain or impact the maximization of the product’s business value.
  • Collaborate closely with the product development teams (software, medical and laboratory as relevant) to assess product feasibility and execute the product development.
  • Brief and engage senior management on the product vision, investment priorities and road map status.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting the product development process in the information technology sector in the areas of technical development, product experience or marketing.
  • Extensive knowledge of bioinformatics and software engineering and experience or knowledge in medical or genetic sciences strongly preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in informatics, bioinformatics, genetics or other life science.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Ability to get things done by influencing and inspiring others.
  • Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to negotiate and liaise with stakeholders across the organization.
  • The willingness to take risks and fail fast.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Additional Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience in working with customers worldwide is a plus.
